Dostana – A funny movie with lovely songs

I had recently seen the movie Dostana and loved everything about the movie which is so light, vibrant and fun loving. The movie begins with a rocking number ‘Shutup and Bounce’and Shilpa Shetty looking stunning, svelte and gorgeous with her stylish hair style. The movie has a fundu chemistry between John and Abhishek. Priyanka Chopra has also flaunted her perfect figure with dresses in style carrying them off very well. Mostly all songs of the movie are nice to listen. I love ‘Khabar Nahi’ and ‘Kuch Kam’ very much. Kuch Kam is very beautifully written and depicts the sad depths of a lover when the loved one isn’t close..soft and touching..in the beautiful voice of Shaan.

Lyrics of Kuch Kam –Download Online:
Tham sa gya hai ye waqt aise
Tere liye hi thehra ho jaise
Hmm hmm,..

Kuchh kam roshan hai roshni
Kuchh kam geeli hai baarishein
Kuchh kam leheraati hai hawa
Kuchh kam hai dil mein khwahishein

Tham sa gya hai ye waqt aise
Tere liye hi thehra ho jaise
Hmm hmm,..
Hmm hmm…

Kyun meri saans bhi kuchh pheeki si hai
Dooriyon se hui nazdeeki si hai
Hmm…
Kyun meri saans bhi kuchh pheeki si hai
Dooriyon se hui nazdeeki si hai
Jaane kya ye baat hai
Har subah ab raat hai

Kuchh kam roshan hai roshni
Kuchh kam geeli hai baarishein
Kuchh kam leheraati hai hawa
Kuchh kam hai dil mein khwahishein

Tham sa gya hai ye waqt aise
Tere liye hi thehra ho jaise
Hmm hmm,..
Hmm hmm…

Phool meheke nahi kuchh gumsum se hain
Jaise roothe hue kuchh ye tumse hain

Phool meheke nahi kuchh gumsum se hain
Jaise roothe hue kuchh ye tumse hain
Khushbuyein dhal gayi
Saath tum ab jo nahi

Kuchh kam roshan hai roshni
Kuchh kam geeli hai baarishein
Tham sa gya hai ye waqt aise
Tere liye hi thehra ho jaise

mere maula maula mere maula, man matwala kyun hua hua re
man maula maula mere maula, mere maula
kis taraf hai aaasmaan, kis taraf zaameen khabar nahi khabar nahi
aankh kab khuli khabar nahi khabar nahi
hoo hoo kis taraf hai aaasmaan
kis taraf zaameen khabar nahi khabar nahi
mere maula maula mere maula, man matwala kyun hua hua re
man maula maula mere maula, mere maula

jaane kab kahan kaise tere ho gaye kaise
hum to sochte hi reh gaye aur pyaar ho gaya
mere khawaab dil saaansein, mil ke kho gaye aise
tujko dekh ke aisa to kai baar ho gaya

tu kahe dil yeh tera hi rahe
aur kya kahun khabar nahi khabar nahi
kis taraf hai aaasmaan kis taraf zaameen khabar nahi khabar nahi
mere maula maula mere maula, man matwala kyun hua hua re
man maula maula mere maula, mere maula
aayega woh is intezaar mein
ud chala dil wahan sapne jahan mein janu
lagta hai woh mere kareeb hai
aisa kyun hai magar dhunde nazar beqabu
hosh gul sapno ki main bandhu pull
aankh kab khuli khabar nahi khabar nahi ho o
kis taraf hai aaasmaan, kis taraf zaameen khabar nahi khabar nahi
aankh kab khuli khabar nahi khabar nahi ho o
kis taraf hai aaasmaan kis taraf zaameen khabar nahi khabar nahi

mere maula maula mere maula, man matwala kyun hua hua re
man maula maula mere maula, mere maula

Kabhi Yun Bhi To Ho - Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh is one of the legendary singers in Gazal singing. One of his very heart-touching Gazal is ‘Kabhi Yun Bhi to Ho. It is very close to my heart. It has been sung so well and has written with such imagination. My favourite lines are ‘’ye baadal aisaa Tuut ke barase, mere dil ki tarah milane ko, tumhaaraa dil bhii tarase, tum nikalo ghar se’’. Please read the lyrics below and listen online:

kabhi yun bhi to ho
dariyaa ka saahil ho
puure chaand kii raat ho
aur tum aao
kabhi yun bhi to ho
pariyon ki mehafil ho
koi tumhaari baat ho
aur tum aao
kabhi yun bhi to ho
ye narm mulaayam Thandi havaayen
jab ghar se tumhaare guzaren
tumhaari Khushbuu churaayen
mere ghar le aayen
kabhi yun bhi to ho
suuni har manzil ho
koi na mere saath ho
aur tum aao
kabhi yun bhi to ho
ye baadal aisaa Tuut ke barase
mere dil ki tarah milane ko
tumhaaraa dil bhii tarase
tum nikalo ghar se
kabhi yun bhi to ho
tanahaai ho, dil ho
buunden ho, barasaat ho
aur tum aao
kabhi yun bhi to ho

Lovely song: Haule Haule ho jayega Pyar Rab ne Bana Di Jodi

Something as beautiful and melodious as Haule Haule can be sung by one and only Sukhwinder. I love the way he sings and specially his quality of voice. This song from the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is one simple yet different song. Some lines like ‘Khudse khud ki jung’ ,‘kuch kehta hai aur kuch kar jaye’ and ‘aag ka dariya doob ke jana’ are really touching. The song has a very simple but pleasant music specially with a few Punjabi lyrics and special touches of Sukhwinder’s unique way of singing.

Please read the lyrics below and Download Online

Haule Haule - 4
Haule Haule se hawa lagti hai
Haule haule se dawa lagti hai

Tu Hi Toh Meri Dost Hai - Yuvraj

Another beautiful song which has touching music and refreshes memorable moments of life is a song from the movie ‘Yuvraj’. Initially, I thought that this was the title song of Dostana but then after watching the trailers I came to know that it was from Yuvraj…

I read the lyrics below then the thought of Urdu being a soft and delicate language full of vast expression words. The lyrics have been very well-written with such good an imagination full of expressions of love.. specially the lines “Kabhi Kehta Hai Saahil, Jahan Shaam Utarti Hain, Kehte Hain Samunder Se, Ek Pari Guzarti Hain, Woh Raat Ki Rani Hain, Sargam Par Chalti Hain” – how beautifully written..

Please read the lyrics below and Download Online:

Aaja Main Hawaon Pe Bithake Le Chalun
Tu Hi Toh, Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain
Aaja Main Khalaon Mein Uthake Le Chalun
Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain
Awaaz Ka Dariya Hoon, Behta Hoon Main Nili Raaton Mein
Main Jaagta Rehta Hoon, Neend Bhari Jheel Si Aankhon Mein
Awaaz Hoon Main
Aaja Main Hawaon Pe Bithake Le Chaloon
Tu Hi Toh, Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain
Aaja Main Khalaon Mein Uthake Le Chaloon
Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain `

Raat Mein Chandni Kabhi, Aisi Gungunati Hain
Sunn Zara Lagta Hain Tumse, Awaaz Milati Hain
Main Khayalon Ki Mehek Hoon, Gungunate Hain Saaz Par
Ho Sake Toh Milale, Awaaz Ko Le Saaz Par
Aaja Main Hawaon Pe Bithake Le Chalun
Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain
Aaja Main Khalaon Mein Uthake Le Chaloon
Tu Hi Toh Meri Doost Hain
Awaaz Ka Dariya Hoon, Behta Hoon Main Nili Raaton Mein
Main Jaagta Rehta Hoon, Neend Bhari Jheel Si Aankhon Mein
Awaaz Hoon Main

O Kabhi Kehta Hai Saahil, Jahan Shaam Utarti Hain
Kehte Hain Samunder Se, Ek Pari Guzarti Hain
Woh Raat Ki Rani Hain, Sargam Par Chalti Hain
Re Sa Re Sa Re Sa, Sa Re Sa Re Sa Re
Aaja Main Hawaon Pe Bithake Le Chaloon
Tu Hi Toh, Tu Hi Toh Mera Doost Hain
Aaja Main Khalaon Mein Uthake Le Chaloon
Tu Hi Toh Mera Doost Hain
Awaaz Ka Dariya Hoon, Behti Hoon Mein Nilli Raaton Mein
Main Jagti Rehti Hoon, Neend Bhari Jheel Si Aankhon Mein
Awaaz Hoon Main
Awaaz Hoon Main

Love - Questionable!

I just noticed history repeat
No, I think I noticed the nature unchanged
I also saw love make it no different
I just realized it all went down the drain.
But this showed me the beauty of her pearls
Not the ones which trickled down her cheeks
The ones which fell uncounted down the bed
She found her being proposed by a young lad
Not that he was the only one who fell to her fancies
But the only one who didn’t fall to her fancies
The unusual coincidence appealed her a lot
The simplicity also promised a lot
But continuing to live a life of misconception
Isn’t what she conceptualized at the start of their relation
The post bonding year passed like hell
But the next one bloomed and rung like bell
The misconception was finally assumed as true
Things didn’t change and again truth gave evidence
It was tough to face-
The choice made between love and freedom
She doesn’t regret the choice ever
But wonders if there could have been anything better
It’s tough to keep all things in heart
With no one to discuss and not knowing where to start
Such depth cannot be unfolded
Let life unfold it
The pain is as it was always
And heart advises her
To have married the one who loved her
And questions her
Of not marrying the one who loved her.

Aaoge Jab Tum O Saajana - Jab We Met

I never knew I missed sharing the happiness and pleasure as I listened to this amazing song ‘Aaoge Jab Tum O Saajana’. Amazingly well sung song of the movie ‘ Jab We Met ’, sung by the very talented Ustad Rashid Khan. The voice modulation and classical base forms the key as it touches souls so deeply. I can’t find words to express the beauty of this song especially since it is so romantic. Please Download Online and read the lyrics below:

Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna
Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna
Angana phool khilege
Barsega saawan, barsega saawan
Jhoom jhoom ke
Do dil aise milenge
Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna
Angana phool khilege

Naina tere kajrare
Naino pe hum dil hare hai
Anjane hi tere naino ne
Waade kiye kaie saare hai
Saanso he leher madam chale
To tu kahe barsega saawan
Barsega saawan jhoom jhoom ke
Do dil aise milenge
Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna
Angana phool khilege

Ka ba ba sa sa re ga ga
Chanda ko uta lakho mein
Yeh zindagi tere haton mein
Palko pe jil mil tare hai
Aana bahri barsato mein
Sapno ka jahan
Hoga khila khila
Barsega saawan, barsega saawan
Jhoom jhoom ke
Do dil aise milenge
pa ni sa re ma ma ga ga ga
ga re re re ga re da ni re re ma da ni da da
da ni da pa ma ma ma da da ma re pa ga
ga ma da ni sa sa re pa ma ma ga ga ga re ga sa
Angana phool khile
pa ni da ni da sa re ma ma ma ma ga
Angana phool khile
ma ma pa ni da re ma pa re re sa da
re pa pa ma ma ga ga

Memorable Moment: A Loving Instance

Memorable Moment: A Loving Instance
While I was talking my heart out to a close friend yesterday, I remembered many fond memories of the past. One is so sweet that I really like sharing. One day I visited my cousin and we were taking a walk in the lane. We saw one of her neighbor’s kid crying and his mother was scolding him like anything. My cousin told me that this was a regular feature but I – emotional as always – grew worried. I went over to speak to him, asked him name and gently put my hand over his face. He seemed such a lovely face or so it seemed to me – innocent and crazy :). He kept crying when I first talked to him but then stopped a little and started listening to what I was saying. I tried to be as gentle with him and asked him to shrug his (silly) demands from his mother and tried to draw his attention to other things. I think I chatted with him a little while my cousin kept exchanging words with his mother and then we moved on. I am not sure when did I meet him again. This was long time back say more than 10 years back.

Time passed, I grew up, started working, got married and it was time when my cousin – two years younger to me was about to get married. I went to attend her wedding and then my cousin’s younger sister called me saying someone wanted to meet me like anything. As I walked with her I kept wondering who could it be but could make no guesses. Then I saw him, he had grown up and was in X or XI by then looking mature than what he was when we met. He had not changed and seemed naughty as ever. As he looked at me, he smiled gently. I recognized him instantly and asked him how he was doing and gave him a warm hug. His mother was also present and she told me that he wanted to meet me so much. I was glad that he remembered me so much after such a long gap of 10 years.

His Mom told me that he kept questioning everyone if I had married? When he got a chance to speak, his first statement was “आपने तो कहा था कि मुझसे शादी करोगी, आपने तो शादी कर ली?!”. I was left speechless and then suddenly burst out into laughter. He said it so cutely and blushed a little and then started laughing too. I then remembered faintly that once he constantly asked me if I would marry him and I had jovially said a yes. He was just 8 or 9 years old then as much as I remember and I had cleared school and definitely thought of myself as being a lot elder to him and took it all as fun!! I blushed lightly as he said and laughed aloud alongwith all elders standing with us in the group :):):). I was amazed at the footprint I must have left over his thoughts in that young an age and felt really happy about someone valuing me a lot.

He insisted on meeting my husband and I called him to meet this crazy child. I felt lovingly funny to introduce him to my husband and I said teasingly ‘Meet my ex-boyfriend of childhood, I left such a loving and caring person to marry you’. Even he burst out in laughter and all joining us in the conversation also laughed aloud.
So touching kiddish act from a child.. His mothers used to say that he only listened to me, did what I mentioned even once and inquire about me often.

Love can happen anywhere, for anyone, any number of times and in varied meanings in life. Love is the most sacred feeling on earth. I am so touched with this memorable moment.

Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna - Lovely Song

Some songs are so beautiful that they touch your hearts with the first beat and in the first go. This song rung a bell instantly. I was dying to hear it again but since I heard it on FM I had to wait to download from the internet. It is some typical form of poetry which the ‘less knowledgeable – me’ would not be able to classify but it has been beautiful written. The choice of words is so selected and in such rhythm that you can fall in love with the mere lyrics. It has been sung equally well in a fine voice yet filled with simplicity of singing by Swanand Kirkire and the music is by Shantanu. How beautiful..Download Online and read the lyrics below..

To me this song is from a person who is so much in love like the crazy ones. The song indicates his love for his dear one with loving yet crazy thoughts which might be unrealistic but he wants them so much to come true. The delicate words which have been put to use like Mann, Baatein, Saansen, ‘sayaani bheed..’, and many more have been so lyrically woven into each other that they have given this song an indirect yet deep meaning. This song again proves the point that most of the traditional way of singing still holds its invaluable place and correctly people say – The Golden Numbers / The Golden Era of Singing / and likes.

Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavre Se Mann, Ki Dekho Bavri Hain Baatein
Bavre Se Mann, Ki Dekho Bavri Hain Baatein
Bavri Se Dhadkaane Hain, Bavri Hain Saansen
Bavri Si Karwaton Se, Nindiya Door Bhaage
Bavre Se Nain Chaahe, Bavre Jharokhon Se, Bavre Nazaron Ko Takna
Bavra Mann Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavre Se Is Jahan Main Bavra Ek Saath Ho
Is Sayani Bheed Main Bas Haathon Mein Tera Haath Ho
Bavri Si Dhun Ho Koi, Bavra Ek Raag Ho
Bavri Si Dhun Ho Koi, Bavra Ek Raag Ho
Bavre Se Pair Chahen, Baavron Tarano Ke, Bavre Se Bol Pe Thirakna.
Bavra Mann, Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna
Bavra Sa Ho Andhera, Banvri Khamoshiyan
Bavra Sa Ho Andhera, Bavri Khamoshiyan
Thartharati Low Ho Maddham, Banvri Madhoshiyan
Bavra Ek Ghooghta Chahe, Haule Haule Bin Bataye, Bavre Se Mukhde Se Sarakana,
Bavra Mann, Dekhne Chala Ek Sapna

Karvachauth

Karvachauth - Memorable Moments
After marriage it is my third karvachauth. Being a girl from Rajasthan, I am very close to colours, festivals, mehndi and traditions. Especially, the little that I can cook for my loved one makes me feel very happy on this day. Mehndi and moon being two important parts of this festival have a attribute in common. Both are associated to aesthetics. Mehndi is such a delicate art form which has been followed as a very sacred custom. There are different ways in which Indian females apply mehndi on each other’s hands.

1. Using matchsticks
2. Using thumb and one finger by making a thin wire – like form out of wet mehndi and applying it on hands
3. Using plastic cones

The most prevalent one these days is using plastic cones.
Nothing more beautiful can be said about moon than the number of songs which talk about the beauty and feelings spun around moon.
Happy Karchauth to all. May your wishes this Karvachauth be fulfilled soon.

A Momentary yet Deep thought

While coming to the office this morning, my car stopped at the red light and as usual the street vendors came rushing to my car window and starting peeping in, showing their items for sale. Books, pens, magazines, old novels and many more little things. Most of the people selling these are small kids and most of the beggars are also small kids. One of the elder kids came to me with books in hand, I got attracted to a book too and then in a split second looked away from him showing no interest in buying it. But one of my glances was enough..enough for him to make a pleading request of buying it and giving a million reasons full of pity.

My eyes suddenly catch hold of a small child's pleading looks holding a Ganeshji's idol in his hand..and a momentary yet deep thought pulls me deep down the waters. In a normal well-to-do family would have been playing around with toys / riding a bicycle..did this child ever feel what childhood was? He grew up so soon and simply skipped the fond feelings we carry of our childhood days..the days full of fun, laughter, toys n dolls..the summery escapades into the trees, the platefull of brunch and mother's worry of us being hungry. I wish god makes earth so prosperous that the basic necessities of life are in abundance. If competition be an indespensible initiator of growth in the universe then let competition be for things like studies, looks and wealth but not on the basic needs like food, clothes and a roof above.

7 Souls and Love of Life

Today is a beautiful day when i wish to recollect a few songs indicating a few memorable moments of my life..among them is a from the movie 'Shabd' - nothing can be as close to reality. A young guy falling in love with a female older than him truly proves age is actually no bar when it comes to love. It is above all social bindings. Love is illogical and gives nothing in defense. People in love simply say 'we love each other' because there is no explanation to love. Between the loved ones, words are not something that is required. The beauty lies in the communication between eyes..eyes which wish to drown into each other and want nothing more..eyes which have fantasies filled in them and hold each other’s hands and move to great heights. Is true love an imagination? Does it really exist? There are many questions which I try seeking answers for and this continues. Do rains affect two lovers equally? Oh yes I can say that since I have felt that myself. Does love always need social boundations? I am not very sure.. love probably does not mean marrying each other always and neither does it mean that after marriage the love goes away. There have been many words written on such topics and I lately read something around this in Times of India – Life. Someone had beautifully crafted the sacred feeling of love into pearl like droplets flowing in his article. He talked about many 7 souls of a person. He also said that it was not necessary that you find everything in the one you first love or marry finally. It is quite possible that the one you marry suits one of the seven souls embedded within you and you might feel love feelings towards people other than the one you married / settled with which may be different and might satisfy different souls in your being. It is nothing like feeling guilty about it said a psychologist because she felt it was natural. I had never read about anything of such kind and felt that it was quite possible to love more than one person in one life and this has been happening across the earth. How complicated can life be and yet full of feelings.

Anyone that you wish to hear and need a copy..lemme know..relive the song again by reading its touching and meaningful lyrics below:

jism to sirf ek bahanaa hain
ruh tak saath sath jaana hain
haath jabse hain hain tera haath mein
phir haath mein zamanaa hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme shabd gum hain, arth matlab gum ho raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain

rut na pehle the kabhi itni jawaan
thoda naya sa lag raha hain yeh jahaan
aayega aur bhi ais hi samaa
aayega aur bhi aisa hi samaa
haan hamesha do dilon ko pyaara sa jo raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain

dil yeh chaahe tutkar chaahoon tumhe
dedo ijaazat tutne ki tum hamein
dil yeh chaahe tutkar chaahoon tumhe
dedo ijaazat tutne ki tum hamein

chunke rakh lo chaahaton ke yeh lamhen
yun sambhalkar thamlo lo pal dekho woh kho raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme shabd gum hain, arth matlab gum ho raha hain

De Di Humein Azadi

One among the best of patriotic songs of India is the one below. With non-violence acting as a deadly weapon without any guilt of killing others today we are independent. Gandhiji could not be simply a name but became something which instilled a feeling of gratitude among our hearts..recollecting his sacrifise, his intellect, his ideas and patriotism towards our country India due to which he has made himself memorable and given us moments of happiness and independence to share.

Please find the lyrics of 'De Di Humein Azadi' below and listen online

My Mood Today..Awarapan Banjarapan

My Mood TodayMy mood of the day is best described..in the song Awarapan Banjarapan..each moment that is passing for past 2-3 months seems to become memorable in its own way..

Awaarapaan Banjarapaan
Ek Hala Hai Sine Mein
Har Dam Har Pal Bechaini Hai
Kaun Bhala Hai Seene Mein

Is Dharti Par Jis Pal Suraj
Roz Savere Ugta Hai
Is Dharti Par Jis Pal Suraj
Roz Savere Ugta Hai
Apne Liye To Thik Usi Pal
Roz Dhala Hai Seene Mein
Awaarapaan Banjarapaan
Ek Hala Hai Sine Mein

Jaane Yeh Kaisi Aag Lagi Hai
Is Mein Dhua Na Chingari
Jane Yeh Kaisi Aag Lagi Hai
Is Mein Dhua Na Chingari
Ho Na Ho Us Par Kahin Koi
Khwaab Jala Hai Seene Mein
Awaarapaan Banjarapaan
Ek Hala Hai Sine Mein

Jis Raste Par Tapta Suraj
Sari Raat Nahi Dhalta
Jis Raste Par Tapta Suraj
Sari Raat Nahi Dhalta
Ishq Ki Aise Raha Guzar Ko
Hum Ne Chuna Hai Seene Mein
Awaarapaan Banjarapaan
Ek Hala Hai Sine Mein

Kahan Kise Ke Liye Hai Mumkin
Sab Ke Liye Ek Sa Hona
Kahan Kise Ke Liye Hai Mumkin
Sab Ke Liye Ek Sa Hona
Thoda Sa Dil Mera Bura Hai
Thoda Bhala Hai Seene Mein
Awaarapaan Banjarapaan
Ek Hala Hai Sine Mein

Solitude

Lovely Song from Ehsas: Tumse Milkar Hua Hai

Remembering this melodious creation of Hindi song: Tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas of 'Ehsaas' which was sung by K. K., Bela Shende, i feel it is a very touchy song and brings back fond memorable moments of my life back into my eyes..what takes my heart away is the soft way in which it has been sung and its music brings a sense of contentment.
Listen online or download

Read its lyrics below:

Tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tum Agar Jaan Lo
tum Bhi Maan Lo
ho Na Ho Yeh Pyaar Hai
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tum Agar Jaan Lo
tum Bhi Maan Lo
ho Na Ho Yeh Pyaar Hai tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas
ek Naya Naya tumse Milkar Hua Hai

jane Kyon Aisa Lagta Hai
kal Jo Kal Aanewala Hai
jane Kyon Aisa Lagta Hai
kal Jo Kal Aanewala Hai
woh Baharon Ka Mausam Hai
roshni Hai Ujala Hai
ae Haseen Humsafar thoda Sa Sochkar
tum Kaho Kya Yeh Pyaar Hai
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tumse Milkar Hua Hai

manzilen Humne Khoyi Hai
raaste Phir Se Paaye Hain
manzilen Humne Khoyi Hai
raaste Phir Se Paaye Hain
aaj Humne Bhi Palko Pe
sapnon Ke Ghar Banaye Hain
keh Raha Aasmaan ae Mere Raazdaan
tum Kaho Kya Yeh Pyaar Hai
tumse Milkar Hua Hai
tum Agar Jaan Lo
tum Bhi Maan Lo
ho Na Ho Yeh Pyaar Hai
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas ek Naya Naya
tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas..

Radhekrishna Radhekrishna

Radhekrishna is a name which I murmur, speak aloud or keep within my heart but do so very often. I am not a very religious person and not sure since when did I start believing in God and since when did I fold my first hands before God. The first thing that I remember was my ‘Ma’s Pooja’ where she kept numerous ‘bhagwanji’ as I fondly call them. Their pictures were all so colourful..Shivji in Blue shade, Ganeshji in Orangish Yellow..and so on. One picture which I lost my heart on was very sweet, innocent, kind of less Godly and more friendly and loveable - ‘Krishnaji – in his childhood times’. He looked so genuine, so sweet that my heart as a little child grew very fond of his looks – believe me it was looks!

I visited my Aunt one day. My cousions were out that evening and all elders were busy chatting in the drawing room. I was sitting in my cousion’s study room, sitting on the bed I noticed a small booklet. It was full of Hindu Prayers for all Gods (as we call it ‘Book of Aarti’). I indifferently turned the pages and moved to the last leaf where it said ‘Radhekrishna ji ki Aarti’ (Prayer of Lord Radhekrishna). Some unknown but strong instinct ran through me and I read it from the beginning till the end, closed it and kept it aside. I do not believe myself but I remember that Aarti (Prayer) since then! Radhekrishnaji are deeply embedded in my heart and run deep down my soul. His devotees are many and I may be only a small being to love and admire, he is everywhere and all around me.

One lovely song which has come up lately in a hindi movie ‘Vivah’ starred by Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao is ‘Savaiyaa - Radhekrishna ki Jyoti Alokik’. It is melody to ears and is the Music is given By Ravindra Jain and has been Performed By Shreya Ghoshal”

Read below for lovely lyrics by Ravindra Jain and Download Online.

dono karo swikaar kripaa kar

jogan aarati gaaye rahi hai - 2
bhor bhaye ti saanj dhale tak
sevaa kaun itane mahaamaro

vo bhog lagaaye wo laagat pyaaro

aa chal din ko roke
dhup ke peeche daude
chaanv chhue na
o saathi re
o saathi re din dube na
aa chal din ko roke
dhup ke peeche daude
chaanv chhue na
o saathi re
o saathi re din dube na
thaka thaka suraj jab nadi se hokar niklega
hari hari kaayi pe paanv bada toh fislega
tum rok ke rakhna main jaal giraaun
tum pith pe lena main haath lagaaun
din dube na ha
teri meri atti katti
daat se khaati katti
re jaiiyo na
o piihu re
o piihu re na jaiyyo na

kabhi kabhi yun kare main daantu aur tum darna
ugal pade aankhon se feenke paani ka jharna
hmm tere kehre badan mein sil jaaungi re
jab karwat lega chhil jaaungi re
sang le jaaunga
teri meri angni mangni
ang sang laagi sangni
sang le jaaun
o piyu re
o saathi re din dube na
aa chal din ko roke
dhup ke peeche daude
chaanv chhue na
o saathi re

Rainy Days are Close to my Heart

Rains are very close to my heart..and I can just not help myself from observing the droplets. I took this picture from a moving car..it was raining and one of my colleagues was dropping me home..i was noticing the rain drops puring down the car window pane..each droplet joined the other one and formed a stream which fell to the ground..

Have a look..

Thursday, June 5, 2008

Jaan Ve, Jaan Le, Haal-e-Dil..

Rajasthan Royals: Owner and Anthem

The name Rajasthan Royals as now everybody knows is associated with the city of Jaipur – the Pink City Capital of Rajasthan, India. After winning the IPL 2008 with practically no icon players has excelled in its games and has outshined all others. It has shown that even though it missed upon the icon players, the team spirit is the SUPREME power and always helps a team win its game. Being lead and coached by Shane Warne the team has really done very well and done something much unexpected!! The owners of IPL are Emerging Media (Manoj Badale, Lachlan Murdoch, Suresh Chellaram). I think Ila Arun has sung the team anthem particularly well ‘Halla Bol’.

IPL: Mohd Asif in Dubai Custody for Drugs Issue

I was wondering how such a good show of IPL passed without a controversy and here it is.. Mohd Asif who played for the Delhi Daredevils in BCCI's Indian Premier League has been taken into custody since he was found carrying drugs with him. He was taken into custody by the Dubai airport while he was travelling back to Pakistan. As per the news this was found with 48 hours of the end of IPL final. Something so noval had come up as a good opportunity for all the players from multiple countries who had come to participate and play jointly for a team. Such controversies actually spoil the good memories all would have carried after IPL. I hope in the first place that the charges are not true and if they are then it would really be unfortunate for his country. Moreover, after being through such a time earlier too it is more likely for others to suspect him this time too. I believe when talented people move out of their countries crossing boundaries, they are not mere individuals - they are the ones who carry the respect and impression of their countries on their shoulders. Hope with time and in the forthcoming IPL series such things fade away and matches are played using the actual caliber. The right spirit to play a sport should never be lost.

Rajasthan Royal Win IPL Cup

The inaugural Indian Premier League's final match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings was finally won by the Rajasthan Royals.

I celebrate this happiness today with all my heart :) born and brought up in the capital of Rajasthan - Jaipur, I have fond feelings for my state's team. The best part is the spirit of IPL which forms the basic theme in my opinion - 'Crossing Boundaries'. I am glad to see players from countries across the world have come up and particpated, led and WON various awards and matches of IPL. This spirit is really wonderful. Captain Shane Warne of Rajasthan Royals takes all the credit of knitting the entire team into one thread and tying it around the IPL Trophy!!

My Song of the Day: Doorie – Kuch Is Tarah

As I listen to this song, I feel the beauty with which the lyricist has expressed lovely feelings of a lover wishing to take away all the pains of his loved one. The thoughts have been put together which such simplicity and the music has given it the well-deserved effect making it again ‘A Touchy Song’. As I blink my eyes, I feel the beauty of thought through my eyelashes..do read on the lyrics of the song and watch the video on YouTube. Feel it yourself..

Lyrics (Watch VIDEO)

Tu har ghadi har waqt mere saath raha hai
Haan yeh jism kabhi door kabhi paas raha hai

Tip Tip Tip Tip Barish Shuru Ho Gayi...

Is anything more beautiful than rain..well many but it is one those lovely things of nature which I am crazy for. Being a pure cancerian – water sign, I love water..in all its beautiful forms. I am again watching this picture above and can feel the weather of that instant right now in my eyes, on my skin and deep in my heart. When I was young and we stayed in University campus, we had a big garden with trees and shrubs and my father invested a lot of effort keeping it beautiful. To water the plants, there was a circular little structure made of cement with a tap which was made to water plants. Being more of an introvert those days I used to hang around near that structure, my hands dipped into the water and playfully making designs around the boundary of the structure. I still remember those moments which were about 10 years back and love each moment.
Another memorable moment during my stay there was the dry soil in my garden with water gushing into our from the next garden. For the first and last until today time I witnessed this amazing phenomenon. I was studying in my room when my father called me and as usual I came running to him. He said “dekh wahan kitti tez barish ho rahi hai aur apne yahan bilkul nahi!!”. Now you must be wondering what is so unsual about this. Well, our and our neighbour’s gardens were adjacent to each other separated just with a fence. It was raining like cats and dogs in their garden and we were standing on dry sand. I was awestruck with this game of nature where for the first time I felt being teased by nature. Ohh..such heavy rainfall and no water on my skin! The overflowing water came to our garden and again had mixed feelings of disappointment and awe.
Rains are the most beautiful amongst all the weathers if you consider the loving feelings which blossom within the hearts of two people. It is the picture perfect if you imagine two people walking hand in hand together – clinging to each other in the same umbrella and cuddling into each other! Even the cool breeze feels like teasing them and splashes the drizzle on their faces..This is how nature naturally supports positive feelings on earth.

Rains are also an important aspect for movie makers and rain forms the most characteristic environmental indicator to picturize romantic or touchy moments.

Vaishnav jan to tene kahiye je ..Memorising Mahatma Gandhi

I had heard this song sometime when I was very young and the DD channels were quite popular among all..in such little age too this song unfluenced me so much. I never forgot it..the music and few of its chorus lines. I no nothing more about this song except that it is associated with M.Gandhi. I would have addressed him like Gandhiji but felt like writing in a different way than usual though with all the curiosity of trying to know him as a person. The song is very close to my heart..and its lyrics are below for just reliving it again.

Mixed Feelings: Jaipur Blasts

I have seen an ocean.. i have felt those soothing waves where there is serenity and there is peace. I have seen fishes breathing and swaying in the deep blue waters – how delicately they used to swim and what vibrant colors their skin was made of – they were young and full of zeal. All the creatures in the deep waters got attracted towards them and loved to rejoice at their very sight. Fishes were free – free from all restrictions and in command of all their thoughts..they ate what they liked and they loved each other’s company when they playfully fiddled with the waves around. Now sweet times had left –may not be for very long but a suddenly the earth deep below the waters shudders..and there is a uproar – little fishes swirl around and exchange looks – their little mouths wide open in horror and full of questions – what had happened..the soothing waves turned harsh on their delicate bodies and they did not know where to hide..Waves crisscrossed each other and turned violent – so agitated..the waves seem to rise as high as sky as if a man had held both his arms high and then smashed his fists again below – the wild winds pressed him so hard. This hurricane was endless and none knew when it would end..sooner the better the fishes thought..oh such indecisiveness and such uncertainty – when would it end!

Some memories are tough to be placed under memorable moments..since they are so bitter to recollect in the current scenario. I had never thought Jaipur with such calmness and beauty would be blown up so badly..that the Pink City would actually turn RED. I know my family is fine..I know couple of my friends' families are fine..but I cannot just express the mixed feelings of fright, sudden tension, uncertainity, horror and guilt with which I started calling those whom I knew..coz at the bottom of my heart I knew many who had died were not known to me...but many a times they must have crossed my way in those walled city markets. I had been to LMB and to Badi Chaupal and Choti Chaupal - i must have at least spoken to a few shopkeepers..i may have gone to the market and brushed my shoulder with anyone of those nearby residents of the walled city of Jaipur - I had also touched those pink pillars and many a times stood by them waiting for Ma to complete what she was buying - those pillars are black - covered with ashes and those roads are spilled with blood - ohh after all it is my home town..and I am exceptionally attached to each bit of dust that floats in the air. How can I only speak to my knowns and be relaxed..those 200 known strangers have died but they mean something - something to me and Every Thing to some. Sense of belonging to a family, place, institution or country means so much at times that it is terrible to face the realities of life. I hope this never happens again..

Old Song - Din Dhal Jaaye: Touching Song By Mohd. Rafi

One of those lovely and melodious songs sung by Rafi Sahab is ‘Din Dhal Jaaye,Haye Raat Na Jaaye’ from the movie Guide. For those who love it, please have the lyrics below..It is a touching song with beautifully framed thoughts and shows a recollection of the loving moments which are past and are missed. Love makes people sit breathless and think about lovely times. Day dreaming is one thing which is true for all who fall in love waiting and wishing if their loved one could be with them at that moment. Love is the most sacred feeling where there are sleepless nights coloured with passionate wishful thoughts..all so unrealistic. Coincidences are such a big part of how God brings two people together..it could be anywhere..it happened with one of my friends. She ran into her ‘future love’ when he traced her among I think about a thousand people!! As she explains it was such a bliss full moment when she had gone for a festival celebration and suddenly she saw him. Both had talked to each other on phone about how they would celebrate but little did they know that after a few hours there would be a small coincidence– such a beautiful one. Love spreads naturally – I guess its allergic but I am crazy about seeing people slowly meet each other and in a look or couple of small meetings..falling in love with each other. I remember my little ones and love remembering them repeatedly..

Din Dhal Jaaye, Haye Raat Na Jaaye
Tu To Na Aaye Teri Yaad Sataaye

Pyaar Mein Jinke Sab Jag Chhodha
Aur Huye Badnaam
Unke Hi Haathon Haal Hua Yeh
Baithe Hai Dil Ko Tham
Apne Kabhi The Ab Hain Paraaye
Din Dhal...

Aisi hi Rimjhim Aisi Phuhaaren
Aisi Hi Thi Barsaat
Khud Se Judaa Aur Jug Se Paraaye
Hum Dono The Saath
Phir Se Woh Saawan Ab Kyon Na Aaye
Din Dhal...

Dil Ke Mere, Pass Ho Kitne
Phir Bhi Ho Kitni Door
Tum Mujhse Mai Dil Se Pareshaan
Dono Hain Majboor
Aise Mein Kisko Kaun Manaaye
Din Dhal…

Tibet – A disheartening Issue: Save Tibet!

Though I would have discussed this in my next blog and you came to know where and when was the origin of these thoughts. I am quite away from politics and moreover, I am hardly aware of happenings around the world. I visited the monastery in Maclodganj. I think it is one of the true holy places I have been to and which have touched my heart so deeply. As I write this blog even..I have pasted the picture of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama – this is the way I have learnt to refer him through people who know him and his holy deeds and belong to different walks of life. I look into his face and it’s tough to express in words the extent of sacredness I see in his face, such wisdom which emanates from his forehead – it is hard to miss. I am just eager to know him in person, his nature, his actual feelings embedded in his heart and mind, the logics he works on, his driving force (I am sure it must be Lord Buddha) and whatever he is made of. I think I want to know him as a common man first. Inquisitiveness fills my heart as I think about him.

Tibet has a rich cultural heritage and I read somewhere that it once had its own flag and rules and regulations. I can base all my thoughts on the base of a few articles which I read on internet as I told you that I not so deeply aware of the general awareness highlights. On the basis of what I read, I feel China has been really unkind to the people of Tibet. Why do countries ever need to conquer other small countries – simply to increase their size, population base and prosperity? There is absolutely no human concern and China is such a communist country. By saying this with China, it might sound abusive but isn’t it true. I visited a museum which displayed pictures of times when Tibet was happy and how slowly the bad times started. The museum also played a television which showed a few excerpts of how China police had actually caught and thrown them behind the bars. How mercilessly had Chinese police beaten a Tibetian was evident from a set of clothes worn by him and displayed by this museum. I could neither take my eyes off the displayed items nor could my eyes leave them and look away. My heart feels deep pain as I write about the blood spots turned blackish from red over this period of time. They had shown a shirt, a pair of parallels and two strips of cloth which were used by prisoners to tie them around their legs so that the brutally tied chains did not hurt their legs. How cruel can the Chinese be to abduct the Panchen Lama, Gendun Choekyi Nyima who has been detained by the Chinese since 1996? I walked around the entire museum with a heavy heart witnessing the Tibetians being tortured and harassed and my heart felt like actually sharing the pain out with someone close. Much did the big maroon-coloured notebook actually do which was put on a distant table with a pen. I went close to it and blindly and hastily started pouring my deep-felt wishes for saving Tibet. With such precious and rare cultural heritage Tibet sure would shine one day. Similar to India which was once under the rule of Britishers, Tibet would soon be free – I then let my lips slowly move and join the voice of millions to say – SAVE TIBET – Save humanity.

A Poem on Me..

I write a little..but then little did I think that someone would ever write about me..one of my friends’ father is a great poet and this time when I went to see her, Uncle came up with this little poem for me as always but ‘about me’ is what was a pleasant surprise. Nothing much to write..do read on..

Her mother’s yesterday’s child smile
Often quiet father’s quiet pride
Lyrical white lily posture in fragile frame
Moving something, saying wide
Yes, Bengali eyes.
I want to take this perfect picture
In poetic diction
For carrying home
To earn a sumptuous smile
From her parents
Even though for a while.

NOIDA DELHI POLICE – DEPLORABLE

Such is the scenario today that humanity is nowhere to be seen..even if it remains then it gets stuck between laws and regulations of the country…how do I say that?? Please read the article on this link http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/uncategorized/noida-delhi-police-squabble-as-youth-lies-dead-on-road_10037971.html and you will definitely be left aghast after reading the deplorable condition – of ?? Of should I say the poor little 19 year old – call centre employee who worked for Agies or of the police department who were fighting on such a trivial issue – trivial as against the life of the young fellow who – poora thing – was hung like a calendar on the sharp railings of a road divider! Horrifying is it? Oh how saddening and shocking. This young lad – how much did he know that he would have such a fate – such a dread full – who is responsible..this young guy or the one who hit him and ran away leaving the guy on the verge of death – hung on the railing with an arrow of the railing passing into his stomach – tearing him apart. I am feeling so sad since the moment I heard this. Again who is responsible..should we blame the police for witnessing and ignoring this fate of the young lad and continuing to fight for disowning the case and not letting it file in their region, even if the person died on the spot, how could they simply see a dead body hung in such a bad shape for more than 2 hours – or should be blamed - the people who witnessed it live – who were such cowards not to have helped the poor guy – but could they do much. Could they do much with the law made by man – be it any country – where people would be behind the bars for fiddling with the evidence by taking the poor young guy out of the railing – oh – how unfortunate – I feel deeply for the guy who had not seen much in life – hardly anything – his youth had just begun and his beautiful days – career – family would have then started – if only he had lived..My heart full condolences to him. May his soul rest in peace..i know there are several other cases happening each instant somewhere around the world but each one is as disheartening. To all I say – May Good Luck and Happy Life be with you always. Drive Safe.

Touching Songs from Makdee and Taare Zameen Par

At times the song compositions in the film industry are of such substance that they simply sweep me off my feet..two beautiful songs which have so realistically depicted a child and his/her expectations and their feelings for their mothers.
You might have seen a hindi movie called Makdee which was a children's film in Hindi directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, starring Shabana Azmi, Makrand Deshpande, Shewta Prasad, and Alaap Mazgaonkar. I think it was released in 2002/ 2003 and had a lovely song..

Song: Mai from Makdee

Link: http://ww.smashits.com/music/hindi-film/songs/4333/makdee.html

I think among the songs that have come up in the past few years, the ‘Mai’ song of Makdee has been sung very deeply. It shows feelings like despair and fear of the little child who she thinks she has nowhere to go and her mother (Maa) is whom she misses - who is not in the world anymore.

Another touching and never-so-deeply expressed song is from the movie Taare Zameen Par released this year.

Song: Maa

Link: www.songs.pk/taare_zameen_par.html

It describes how close a little boy is to his mother. The phrase ‘Meri Maa’ is touching and more touching is the song where my heart actually breathes with the rythym of the music notes and flow. How a boy is expected to be strong and does not express things openly but he also is a child as old as a girl of his age and feels old and bold in this little age. Somewhere in his mind, he compares himself since childhood to big boys of his age and holds grudges against them, feels like replying back with the same intensity of punches and showing them never to bully him again.. but somewhere deep into his heart he realizes he is young and admits a few facts which he cannot before anyone else. Such is the beauty of this song which has been very well written and equally skillfully sung. The boy cannot admit any of his weaknesses before anyone in reality not even before his parents but the only person whom he feels close to and THINKS, can speak up to is his mother..this proves the toughness of replacing any relation to that with a mother. She is loving, sacrificing, devoted, pampering, resourceful, full of will power, appreciative, best friend, beautiful in every form, most knowledgeable coz she teaches her child every day, the best doctor – she knows the best of little home-treatments, her voice is like soothing honey which gives instant relief to all problems and the mind finds rest, she helps her children reach to decisions though she may or may not be educated.

The gravity in the voice when we speak ‘Ma’ is the lifeline for all.

YESTERDAY WAS IRONICAL

At times I feel that the name of my blog ‘memorable moments’ will only indicate or so would be the perception of others or maybe only I feel so..those moments which are good to hear..I have not written many blogs yet but an ironical situation would so soon come before me, is something I never expected! I am not sure how verbose can I be in describing my state of heart and mind but still here it is for I really wish to open my heart out..

Yesterday was an ironical day. During the first half I came know of a marriage been fixed – two people got engaged..two nice people who are both worth the admiration..lot of it. It had been a pleasant surprise to hear about the engagement and I was really happy. I came back with sweets offered by them in my hands and full of happiness. It was about mid of day.

Orkut is a good community for social networking at least it links people and we come to know of things good and bad…I had scrapped a school-time friend on orkut asking how she was doing and that I was so happy to find her on orkut. I congratulated her about her sweet little baby whom I saw in the pictures uploaded. How much did I know..I was talking to a soul and not a ..

Another batchmate pinged me on chat as soon as I came back with the sweets of the engaged couple. We talked after almost 15 years..we were friends in 6th standard in school as much as I remember. I was filled with excitement when she sent a ‘Hi’. The next line said..”Appie is no more..”. She expired last Tuesday. I was shocked, speechless, didn’t know what to speak..Appie – the same friend whom I thought I had traced on orkut and had sent a message of congratulations for a little baby. It was as though the world has spun around and I felt lost. The smiles of engagement happiness faded with a jolt and my mind was trying to ask a myriad questions..what, how, sudden..and see the irony of the same day when in morning after getting the news of the engagement, I felt a myriad questions coming to my mind..what, how, sudden.

The irony was that the questions were same but the answers were so ghastly different. And the wish from my heart at the end of the day was ‘God Bless Them.’

Favorite Tour: Trip to Tirthan Valley - 2

We had now reached close to the place with roads narrowing down to little stony lanes.Stony Lanes in Tirthan Valley
We crossed a little bridge built on the water body, the depth of which could only be measured in dreams. I had not even dreamt of anything of such kind. All of us were from varied areas of India, some had seen deep waters, some had seen waterfalls and mountains but how could one describe what I was witnessing that moment. Though we had to hurry to reach our Stay Spot, we could not resist stopping for a minute and all went beyond the practicality– thinking how small would be a minute to just stop there and then take a look below, then a little farther, slowly gazing up the altitude and then swallowing nothing once. Such was the feeling at that moment. It took time – the playful view of waves gushing here and there and the sound of those strong waves made us want for more! I sat at the pedestrian and took a picture. Have a look:The 'A' Look
We climbed back into our cars and moved on to see the entrance of the Trout House ahead. It was a long journey. This place had small cottages and we had booked four cottages and were looking forward to simply go and lie down like wooden logs. We were hell tired. Stones were used for making the small uneven staircase which lead to a covered clearing surrounded by trees.Dinning Hall in Trout House, Tirthan Valley-1 Dinning Hall in Trout House, Tirthan Valley-2
We were hungry and the cool atmosphere made us hungrier than ever. It was time for an early dinner. Dinner was laid on a small and again uneven platform and both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes were served. Though the food did not seem very interesting in the first go but since we all were very hungry, we simply gobbled down most of it and also overate a little tastefully. After this we realized the wall adjacent to the platform was done very artistically by the female among the couple who owned the place. The entire place was lit by candles and small bulbs. Artistic Work on Dinning Hall Wall, Tirthan Valley
The host group comprised of a couple (a unique one) with their small baby boy (very cute and chubby) along with two cooks and a few caretakers. The owner showed us into our cottages. Our cottage was facing that of the other couple. Our Cottage in Trout House, Tirthan Valley
We rushed in. There was no electricity or no other sound. We could hear water flowing through the narrow natural mountain cracks. For the first time this sound of flowing, trickling and splashing water seemed music-same as the poets describe in their musical collection of words which is thrown on a piece of paper and in moments – which is being played on guitars. With the reference of Guitar, I recollect that the owner had promised to play guitar (he knew well) the next night. How romantic, isn’t it? We were all looking forward to it.
We were all soon fast asleep. The natural aura was so relaxing that 6 hours seemed more than enough to sleep and we woke up like fresh daisies ready to bloom around into the watery terrains. I realized with the first sunlight streak that the cottage rooms were done really well. They were decorated creatively and had small but many windows to see the greens around. I woke up from the bed and first thing I did was looking outside the window. I saw another creative artwork done with stones, mud, broken glasses and plants. I felt like complementing the owner for her innovative artwork though I am not sure if other liked it.
Another Creativity by Owners of Trout House, Tirthan Valley
Another bedside window showed small cherry shrubs which seemed so hilly. I had not seen red cherries’ shrubs and went close to them as we go ready and went out to have breakfast in the same clearing which was our dining cum lobby clearing. Cherry Plant Outside Cottage Window, Tirthan Valley
As I stepped out of the cottage, towards my left was a stony trail which went into greens.
Stony Trail Into Greens, Cottage, Tirthan Valley
The instant thought was to quench my curiosity which had its solution at the end of the trail into the trees but I preferred to have breakfast first! We had a nice and quite heavy breakfast of aloo-gobhi-onion and paneer paranthas. Wow is the taste I recollect!
We planned to go to the riverside which was stormy, splashy, shiny and inviting us to bathe. Since we were almost at the top of the mountain, the river probably started somewhere close to it and carried big and small pieces of rocks so the river bed and shore were extremely rocky. It was tough to walk bare feet. All of us were dying to play with water and all suddenly grew childish and play full. It was great fun and the water was chilled. Feet felt like numb but it was a pure feeling. No one could try bathing since the water was cold but all of us played with water, clicked pictures for long hours. At times we used to dread falling ill but Mother Nature was quite liberal and all went fine.
The First Look at the River, Tirthan Valley
Clouds hung from above with baskets full of water, drizzling began. Reluctantly we planned to rush back to the cottage. It started raining heavily and all day and night it rained.
Now came the real attraction of this place..I told you that I would reveal it later. Here is the secret disclosed..This place is famous for fishing and specifically ‘Trout’ fishing. Trout is a breed of fish which is found in the waters of these areas. The owner of this house was a top-shot fisherman and knew a lot in detail about fishing. He opened before us his vast knowledge about fishing and showed us how he used to make a ‘fly’ for fish..I think fly is what the trapping article was called. It sure required art, patience and knowledge of fishery. The picture below is a collection of feathers, shiny threads and metal hooks which were used to make a fly which varied in terms of size, shape, colour.
Tools of Trout Fishing, Tirthan Valley
This fly was given a look of an insect which trouts / other fishes ate so that when the fly was casted, fishes would take it as a normal insect of their routine diet and ate it, get caught. There were trout farms somewhere close.
There were special plans made by our hosts to serve us Fishes for dinner. We chatted for long and enjoyed each other’s company, had lunch and it was by evening that the clouds decided to rest. We now thought of moving around and felt like absorbing as much as eyes could make it – the clouds, waters, woods, small bridges knitted together with green leaves and making it a ‘Picture Perfect’. We also planned to visit Trout Farm to get fishes for dinner.
