Karvachauth

Karvachauth - Memorable Moments
After marriage it is my third karvachauth. Being a girl from Rajasthan, I am very close to colours, festivals, mehndi and traditions. Especially, the little that I can cook for my loved one makes me feel very happy on this day. Mehndi and moon being two important parts of this festival have a attribute in common. Both are associated to aesthetics. Mehndi is such a delicate art form which has been followed as a very sacred custom. There are different ways in which Indian females apply mehndi on each other’s hands.

1. Using matchsticks
2. Using thumb and one finger by making a thin wire – like form out of wet mehndi and applying it on hands
3. Using plastic cones

The most prevalent one these days is using plastic cones.
Nothing more beautiful can be said about moon than the number of songs which talk about the beauty and feelings spun around moon.
Happy Karchauth to all. May your wishes this Karvachauth be fulfilled soon.

A Momentary yet Deep thought

While coming to the office this morning, my car stopped at the red light and as usual the street vendors came rushing to my car window and starting peeping in, showing their items for sale. Books, pens, magazines, old novels and many more little things. Most of the people selling these are small kids and most of the beggars are also small kids. One of the elder kids came to me with books in hand, I got attracted to a book too and then in a split second looked away from him showing no interest in buying it. But one of my glances was enough..enough for him to make a pleading request of buying it and giving a million reasons full of pity.

My eyes suddenly catch hold of a small child's pleading looks holding a Ganeshji's idol in his hand..and a momentary yet deep thought pulls me deep down the waters. In a normal well-to-do family would have been playing around with toys / riding a bicycle..did this child ever feel what childhood was? He grew up so soon and simply skipped the fond feelings we carry of our childhood days..the days full of fun, laughter, toys n dolls..the summery escapades into the trees, the platefull of brunch and mother's worry of us being hungry. I wish god makes earth so prosperous that the basic necessities of life are in abundance. If competition be an indespensible initiator of growth in the universe then let competition be for things like studies, looks and wealth but not on the basic needs like food, clothes and a roof above.

7 Souls and Love of Life

Today is a beautiful day when i wish to recollect a few songs indicating a few memorable moments of my life..among them is a from the movie 'Shabd' - nothing can be as close to reality. A young guy falling in love with a female older than him truly proves age is actually no bar when it comes to love. It is above all social bindings. Love is illogical and gives nothing in defense. People in love simply say 'we love each other' because there is no explanation to love. Between the loved ones, words are not something that is required. The beauty lies in the communication between eyes..eyes which wish to drown into each other and want nothing more..eyes which have fantasies filled in them and hold each other’s hands and move to great heights. Is true love an imagination? Does it really exist? There are many questions which I try seeking answers for and this continues. Do rains affect two lovers equally? Oh yes I can say that since I have felt that myself. Does love always need social boundations? I am not very sure.. love probably does not mean marrying each other always and neither does it mean that after marriage the love goes away. There have been many words written on such topics and I lately read something around this in Times of India – Life. Someone had beautifully crafted the sacred feeling of love into pearl like droplets flowing in his article. He talked about many 7 souls of a person. He also said that it was not necessary that you find everything in the one you first love or marry finally. It is quite possible that the one you marry suits one of the seven souls embedded within you and you might feel love feelings towards people other than the one you married / settled with which may be different and might satisfy different souls in your being. It is nothing like feeling guilty about it said a psychologist because she felt it was natural. I had never read about anything of such kind and felt that it was quite possible to love more than one person in one life and this has been happening across the earth. How complicated can life be and yet full of feelings.

Anyone that you wish to hear and need a copy..lemme know..relive the song again by reading its touching and meaningful lyrics below:

jism to sirf ek bahanaa hain
ruh tak saath sath jaana hain
haath jabse hain hain tera haath mein
phir haath mein zamanaa hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme shabd gum hain, arth matlab gum ho raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain

rut na pehle the kabhi itni jawaan
thoda naya sa lag raha hain yeh jahaan
aayega aur bhi ais hi samaa
aayega aur bhi aisa hi samaa
haan hamesha do dilon ko pyaara sa jo raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain

dil yeh chaahe tutkar chaahoon tumhe
dedo ijaazat tutne ki tum hamein
dil yeh chaahe tutkar chaahoon tumhe
dedo ijaazat tutne ki tum hamein

chunke rakh lo chaahaton ke yeh lamhen
yun sambhalkar thamlo lo pal dekho woh kho raha hain

lo shuru ab chaahaton ka silsila ho raha hain
mit rahi hain duriyan aur faasla kho raha hain
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme
ho rahi hain baat kuch aisi jisme shabd gum hain, arth matlab gum ho raha hain
